We offer single-torch, dual-torch and tandem welding systems to assure the best solution for your project. Dual-torch and tandem welding is available for contractors seeking higher production rates.
The new generation of control systems by CRC-Evans Automatic Welding ensures you have control of welding in the field. As a contractor you want to complete the maximum number of welds per day and exceed your production goals. However, pipeline owners must be assured welds are made with accuracy and quality. Our control system gives you both production and quality.
CRC-Evans offers tandem welding, taking a high-level technology and making it available for reliable everyday use. Two wires are fed to one welding head, giving you a more elongated welding pool, which allows one-fill pass at twice the speed of a single-wire system. Tandem welding allows you to boost productivity on applications that were previously restricted to standard-productivity systems, due to both physical and budget reasons. These applications include 2G and 5G, diameters less than 16 inches, pipelines less than 50 kilometers, CRA and other exotic materials. On certain wall thicknesses it can be advantageous to use Tandem in combination with other CRC-Evans welding technologies.
CRC-Evans is one of the only companies to offer full digital control in its automatic welding systems. All system components – welding machines to wire feeders, power source to gas flow – communicate digitally, without the need for analog conversions. You gain real-time control over all weld parameters, and can make adjustments on the fly. Thus you are able to increase speed and precision, eliminate errors and ensure quality. Digital-to-digital is also more effective for welding high-strength pipe.

In addition to single or dual-torch operation, the system offers through-the-arc tracking. “Smart- Card” programming, onboard data collection and touch screen control. Replacement parts fit either side. And its ergonomic design is smaller and lighter for less operator fatigue. Designed for Pulsed GMAW and suitable for GMAW, the P600 package includes travel carriage, wire feeder, computer control and welding head. It interfaces easily with most pulse GMAW welding power sources, including inverters.

CONTROL SYSTEMS
Precise control of welding parameters such as voltage, wire feed speed, travel speed, torch oscillation is maintained by an onboard micro-processor. Interactive limits on welding procedure variables assure “in spec” welds every time. Data storage and output features allow real-time weld data to be printed on-site or downloaded to a portable computer.

P600 PRODUCT LINE
This new system is a part of a complete product line which includes external welding machines, custom application packages and support equipment such as:

P600 dual-torch includes two-head welder, power supply, tracking, “Smart-Card”, programmable console with touch screen, digital controls, service leads, interface kit, wire feeders (external), remote operator control pendant and water cooling system.

P600 single-torch includes same as above, but supplied with one welding head

  Special application packages:
  • Onshore installation. Includes welding habitat, power supply and tractor interface kit.
• Offshore installation. Includes welding supply interface kit, power supply, custom installation and welding power sources.

Support equipment. A full line of optional support equipment is also available including a printer, pipe bands and power supplies.

On certain types of welding projects there has always been a gap between the productivity that is needed and the budget that is available. CRC-Evans has closed this gap with the P450. It provides higher productivity on projects that don’t have dual-head technology in the budget and applications that were limited to standard welding machines in the past. These include 2G and 5G, diameters less than 16 inches, pipelines less than 50 kilometers, CRA and other exotic materials.

ENGINEERING FEATURES
The P450 is a fully digital system. Its features include full through-the-arc tracking, which keeps the torch and bead in perfect position to maximize speed and quality in both vertical and horizontal applications. Position-based parameter control is achieved with an onboard inclinometer that signals welder position in real time to ensure pre-programmed parameters are flawlessly executed. PDA interface allows weld parameters to be programmed offsite and easily downloaded onsite. Performance data can also be uploaded from the P450 and analyzed offsite.

P450 PRODUCT LINE
The machine can be configured for tandem or single-wire welding. It supports GMAW or Pulsed-GMAW and can handle 2G or 5G, as well as CRA and other exotics.

P450 tandem feeds two wires to the welding head, which elongates the weld pool to allow one-fill pass at twice the speed, thus boosting productivity.

P450 single-wire feeds one wire to the welding head for more standard-productivity applications.
With the P260, CRC-Evans brings a host of innovations to automatic welding. The most important factor for automatic welding is the ability to provide consistent welding parameter and quality control. The P260 delivers with:

Tip-to-Work Tracking. This technology maintains the torch at a constant stick-out distance, so you get uniform results around the circumference of the weld.

Parameter Programming. The P260 allows for 32 programmable welding passes. Plus there are enforced limits on parameters such as motor speeds, oscillation width, tilt angle and others – giving you maximum control and consistency. And a secure data key protects all parameters from unauthorized changes. This removable key also stores essential weld data, which can be downloaded to PC and further processed via Excel spreadsheet.

Personal Digital Assistants. PDAs give you even more programming and control flexibility. They allow you to download parameters that have been programmed back at the office directly to the P260 in the field. You can also upload data from the machines, giving you and your clients vital performance information.

Position Based Parameter Control. A tilt sensor tells the system exactly where the welder is on the circumference of the pipe. Different parameters can be programmed for different pipe zones. When the machine gets to a new zone, the appropriate parameters kick in automatically.

Versatility Defined. The P260 is self-contained and incorporates a travel carriage, wire feed motor and wire spool, computer control box and adjustable welding head. Supporting GMAW or Pulsed-GMAW processes, it easily interfaces with most constant-voltage or pulsed-current power sources, including the new inverters.
The M300 external welders from CRC-Evans are proven multipurpose, all-positions, automated welding systems. The new M300 brings state-of-the art electronic controls to a proven platform.

M300 External Welder
The M300 includes state-of-the art electronic controls so that all necessary welding parameters can be programmed. The M300’s memory will store parameters for up to four welding passes.

Latest Technology
The M300 system welding machine features advanced welding technology from CRC-Evans. The programmable electronic control system can store the welding parameters necessary for multiple welding passes, a feature that allows a single machine to weld root, hot, fill or cap passes. This flexibility reduces the number of spare machines and parts required for a project.

The M300 welders are suitable for GMAW, pulsed GMAW and FCAW processes. Such capability allows you to use the best process for your project.

The M300 is designed to provide a wide range of travel, wore feed, and oscillation parameters to accommodate variances in material type, thickness and joint design. Wall thickness up to 50 mm can be welded using standard or compound bevels, making the M-300 suitable for mainline pipeline, tie-ins, fabrication, tank building, ship building and numerous other applications.
