Introduction CRC-Evans Pipeline International

Technology and innovation for the pipeline industry

CRC-Evans Pipeline International was founded in 1933 and today is one of the leading manufacturer of equipment and supplier of services for the pipeline construction industry. We design and build a wide variety of construction equipment, provide automatic welding equipment and technology, provide contract services for on-site pipeline joint coating and heat treating, and offer concrete weighting products. We design and build automated equipment for use in pipeline maintenance. And we are a prime source for individually designed pipe coating plants and laybarge equipment systems.

Industry challenges

We understand that pipeline owning companies and pipeline construction contractors face formidable challenges to maintaining overall efficiency and profitability. Escalating cost of new pipeline construction and intensified market competition make the difficult task of cost control even more difficult. Although new materials such as X-80 and even higher strength pipe may be used to hold down construction costs, they can be hard to use in real-world situations because existing equipment and techniques were not developed to work with these materials.

Helping to change

CRC-Evans is committed to helping the industry reduce the cost of construction and achieve other benefits through technology. We listened to our customers. We focused on their needs. Now we are concentrating on meeting those needs. Throughout our company, more than 100 engineers and field technicians are actively analyzing, designing and testing new products as well as new ideas and new ways of doing things. Our commitment includes researching methods to allow wider use of cost-cutting materials and techniques.

The results of these efforts are leading to new bending and welding technologies for extra-strength, heavy-wall pipe, imaginative applications of technology for thin-wall pipe and new efficiencies for existing equipment. In fact, in an 18-month span we introduced ten efficient new products or product changes. It has even led to a completely new line of high-productivity equipment to help reduce costs under certain applications.
