CRC-Evans' laybarge technology includes pipe handling, double jointing, and joint coating equipment systems specifically designed for reliable offshore performance in both deep and shallow-water projects.

CRC-Evans pipe handling equipment covers everything needed to move pipe joints of all sizes and weights from storage, through the production line, and into the sea. CRC-Evans has spent the last four decades engineering complete advanced systems to help customers boost their efficiency, reliability, and quality so they can deliver successful projects.

ASR 4-10 Auxillary Support Roller Unit

Allows for support of small-diameter pipe located between the line-up modules to help remove sagging of the pipe during the line-up and welding process on the firing line.

Bead Stall Support Roller Unit

This roller supports the pipe string closest to the first welding station. Required for pipe end adjustment of the pipe attached to the pipe string during the line-up operation. Consists of a main frame supported by tracks on load-runner wheels. The main frame supports an elevating sub-frame. The sub-frame will raise and lower by hydraulic cylinders with a total stroke of 8” (203mm), which allow the pipe support roller to raise/lower on the main support. The main frame support structure can travel perpendicular to the pipe +/- 6” (150mm). A hydraulic cylinder is connected to the floor on one end and the other end is connected to the main frame. This will provide movement of the main frame perpendicular to the pipe. The hourglass-type idler roller assembly is mounted to the elevating sub-frame.

Chain-Type Pipe Transfer Beam Conveyor

This conveyor is used to transfer pipe toward the line-up station and to support the pipe during end prep operation. As single joint pipes are required, the pipe will move along a fixed support beam and pusher rollers will transfer the pipe one position at a time. Elevating Endo modules can be used to lower the pipe onto the transfer beam. Transfer carriages can be used to transport the pipe from the conveyor to the line-up station.

Elevating Longitudinal Conveyor Roller Modules

These modules support and transport pipes longitudinally from one area to the other. They also elevate pipes to a different level for processing on the ready rack, e.g. the chain conveyor. This unit has two rollers mounted in a “V” with a 120° included angle. One roller is powered by an electric gear motor, one roller is idle. The rollers are covered with ultraviolet-resistant urethane material. This prevents degradation of the urethane if the rollers are exposed to direct sunlight and thus the lifetime of the material is increased. The rollers are positioned in a way that the conveyor can be used for any pipe diameter size without changing the location of the rollers.

End Prep Support Units

The support frames for the pipe facing machine are designed to allow the pipe end facing machine operator to quickly position and insert the machine into the pipe at the ready rack area.

Fixed Beam Pipe Support Units

Fixed Beam Pipe Support Units are required to hold and store single-length pipes in the ready rack area. Two beams are required for this station. Each position will have Vee-Block assemblies to allow stable support of the pipe during beveling and end preparation operations.

Longitudinal Conveyor Roller Module

Supports and longitudinally transports pipe joints from the pipe storage area to another work area.

PE Pipe Elevator

These units are used to accept pipe joints from overhead crane during pipe loading operations on the longitudinal conveyors. After loading, the pipe is gently lowered onto the conveyor modules.

PSA Roller-Type Pipe Supports, Adjustable Height

This unit is designed to provide support and stability for the pipe between tensioning system and the stern pipe support unit on the firing. They are adjustable in height to support the pipe for the required pipe lay radius.

PSF Roller-Type Pipe Supports

This roller unit is designed to work in pairs to provide support and stability for the pipe between the line-up station and the second weld station. The four- and five-roller units are designed to provide support and stability for the pipe on the forward side of the line-up station when the pipe pays in on the firing.

PTC-V Pipe Transfer Carriage

These carriages are used to transfer single joint pipe in the pipe storage area prior to being lined up. They are also used in the double joint area. The transverse carriages are equipment with safety bars. In case the travel way of the carriage is obstructed, the bar will detect the obstruction and stop the movement of the carriages thus preventing any dangerous situations with personnel or damage to equipment. The position of the rollers on the roller-type carriages only need to be changed between large- and small-diameter pipe.

PTR Pipe Transfer Carriage

Pipe transfer carriages are designed to transport pipe in the pipe storage area prior to being lined up. They are also used in the double joint area. The rollers are used to offset the weld seam of the pipes prior to line-up. The transverse carriages are equipment with safety bars. In case the travel way of the carriage is obstructed, the bar will detect the obstruction and stop the movement of the carriages thus preventing any dangerous situations with personnel or damage to equipment. The position of the rollers on the roller-type carriages only need to be changed between large- and small-diameter pipe.

SPSA Roller-Type Stern Pipe Support, Adjustable Height

This roller unit is designed to provide support and stability for the pipe at the stern of the vessel and to aid in guiding the pipe onto the stinger. They are adjustable in height to support the pipe for the required pipe lay radius.

TPSA Track-Type Pipe Support, Adjustable Height

This track-type unit is designed to provide support and stability. This is for the pipe between the pipe tensioning system and the stern pipe support unit on the firing line. The unit is adjustable in height to support the pipe for the required pipe lay radius. The stern track type unit is designed to provide support and stability for the pipe at the stern of the vessel and to aid in guiding the pipe onto the stinger. The unit is adjustable in height to support the pipe for the required pipe lay radius.

TV-C-W Transverse Conveyor Walking Beam Type

These units are used to transfer pipe between longitudinal conveyor and line-up station. These also support pipe during end prep operation.
