Advantage™ Mandrel

The Advantage Mandrel uses automation technology to dramatically boost efficiency.

One operator uses a wireless controller to drive the mandrel into approximate position. The push of a button activates the mandrel to automatically find center die and expand to secure itself in the pipe. The pull is made and the pipe is advanced. Another push of the button directs the mandrel to contract, center, and expand for the next pull—a process that's easily and quickly repeated until the bend is complete.

Part of CRC-Evans' Automated Bending System, the Advantage Mandrel is self-propelled by an air-cooled diesel engine, without umbilical cords or external power sources. There's also no need for a reach rod, eliminating the guesswork and safety issues that go with manually moving the mandrel.

Models are available to bend pipes from 36", 42", and 48".
